Bollywood beauties might keep their wedding plans under tight wraps, but when it comes to their big day they don’t shy away from splurging to look their blushing best.
From celebrated designers to exclusive jewellery collection, these celeb brides stop at nothing to look exquisite on their big day.
While some stay exclusive to one designer friend for their wedding trousseau, many celeb brides rope in two or three, just to ensure that they’ve got it all covered.

With the year 2012 drawing to an end, it’s the turn of Vidya Balan to play bride. And, while she may insist on keeping her wedding a private affair, we hear she isn’t sparing any effort in ensuring she’s going to be dressed in the most dazzling designs.
Celebrated designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee reportedly steps in to turn Vidya Balan into a blushing bride, and is designing 18 stunning silk sarees for her wedding trousseau.
For an actress who was trashed by fashion critics for her unflattering style choices, Vidya made a striking comeback with Sabyasachi’s exquisite traditional makeover. So, her decision to put him solely on wedding duty isn’t surprising.
“Sabyasachi will personally work on the sarees that will be weaved in silk. The bride and her family have chosen to go with traditional, Indian wedding colours in pure Chennai silk,” revealed a Bollywood website.
Since Vidya and her beau Siddarth Roy Kapoor come from different backgrounds, the wedding will be a combination of their Punjabi and Tamil roots.
“In Tamilian weddings, there’s a change in sari during the ceremony so she has two bridal saris, both warm-shaded silks and Sabya’s doing some exquisite work on them. The cholis will be very traditional,” quoted a source in another entertainment website.

Just months back, Kareena Kapoor had turned bride and had picked her best bud Manish Malhotra and renowned designer Ritu Kumar for her five-day wedding extravaganza.
While Manish created numerous ethnic designs for her many ceremonies, Ritu worked on restoring the wedding ‘gharara’ that was earlier worn by the bride’s mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore for her own wedding.
“I worked on the antique Pataudi gharara that was restored by Ritu Kumar for Kareena's wedding... we did the final fittings and added a bit of embroidery,” he told the Indian media.
Kareena changed into a Manish Malhotra burgundy creation for the post-wedding party, while Saif wore a Banarsi-brocade achkan by designer Raghvendra Rathore.
Manish gave an “old world charm to all the ghararas” for her trousseau, and also designed outfits for the bride’s sister Karisma.
Genelia D'Souza and Ritesh Deshmukh.
Another star wedding earlier this year, saw Genelia D'Souza step out in ravishing ethnic and western designs. Ritu Kumar had avoided the usual bling and shimmer, for something more restrained and classy. “The silhouette which I designed for her (Genelia) is simple yet elegant and chic,” the designer had elaborated.
Genelia also chose Manish and Chennai-based Sidney Sladen for her other functions. For the Sangeet, she wore a Manish Malhotra white-and-silver design, while for other pre-wedding and post-wedding ceremonies, she wore Sladen’s dresses.
Little-known Esha Deol also turned bride this year, with her mom dressing her in lavish jewels from Malabar Gold, and designer Neeta Lulla’s heavily embroidered Kanjeepuram saree.
The theme was in keeping with her South Indian roots, and her wedding trousseau had an impressive collection of traditional Kanjeepuram sarees, all worked by Neeta and her daughter Nishka.

A few years ago, Aishwarya Rai and Shilpa Shetty played blushing brides in opulent designer extravaganza.
Although many fashion critics found striking similarity between Ash and Shilpa’s looks, they both were dressed by different designers.

While Neeta Lulla decked her in a golden-shaded lehenga-saree with chunky kundan jewellery, Tarun Tahiliani dressed Shilpa in a red, Mangalorean bunt-styled saree with similar jewellery.
Now, it’s only a matter of days, before we find out if Vidya will out-do the other B-town brides, and whether Sabyasachi would be able to pull it off.
