Etisalat doubles broadband speeds for home customers for free

UAE telecom services provider Etisalat said in a media statement today that its eLife customers are set to see a major speed upgrade experience as the telco completes doubling its fibre-based Internet speeds for eLife triple-play value bundle customers, at no extra cost.

It added that the hike in Internet speeds for the same price is part of Etisalat’s revamp of the eLife Value Pack offering, catering to the needs of its customers. The new eLife proposition is now bundled as ‘Family’, ‘Sports’, ‘Entertainment’ and ‘Premium’.

“As a first in the UAE home market, we are excited to offer double the broadband speeds to our customers for free,” said Khaled ElKhouly, Chief Consumer Officer at Etisalat.

Calling it the “largest and first free, automatic and simultaneous mass upgrade,” Etisalat said select eLife customers under contract will see their Internet speeds “at least double” across the UAE.

Giving an example, it said that customers subscribed to eLife Sports Pack with 20 Mbps speed will be automatically upgraded for free to 50Mbps home Internet speed.

New home service customers too will enjoy the benefits of higher speeds at lower rates. Etisalat also offers new eLife customers a free Managed Wi-Fi router with all bundle subscriptions.
