A 29-year-old man was found dead in the swimming pool of the Tennis Club in Fujairah on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as being of Syrian nationality.

Brigadier Mohammed Ahmed bin Ghanem Al Kaabi, chief of Fujairah Police, was quoted as saying in Arabic newspaper Al Khaleej, that the police received a call in the morning as regards a body floating in the club’s swimming pool.

One of the members is said to have been the first to see the dead body.

The police have not yet been able to determine the exact cause of death and are awaiting the forensic report.

The man, a member of the club, was believed to have been exercising at the gym, after which he went to the pool.
