Gang of 4 women behind Sharjah's 'friendly neighbourhood' robberies

The Criminal Investigation Department of Sharjah Police have arrested a gang, comprising of four women holding Turkish citizenship, on charges of theft of apartments in several areas in the emirate of Sharjah.

In a shocking modus operandi, the four women targeted homes of people they knew or made acquaintances with.

The four looked and behaved completely normal and hence, victims of theft often gave them information like – when they were not at home – without ever suspecting their motives.

The CID former a special team after a number of complaints of theft from residential areas.

After a thorough investigation, Bergl QK, Halima QN, Sultanah QK and Fatima QK, all of Turkish nationality, were arrested and interrogated.

The police found sharp tools used to break into homes and gold coins.

The accused denied the charges at first, but then in a police identification parade were recognised by people they robbed.

The four have been referred to the public prosecution in Sharjah.

Sharjah Police called on owners of apartments not to leave doors open and not leave money or jewellery out in the open.
