An Egyptian accountant allegedly used another person’s passport copy to obtain a du SIM card and harassed a compatriot saleswoman, the Dubai Criminal Court heard on Sunday.
Riham Fawzi, 34, saleswoman, testified that she filed a complaint with the police about a person harassing her over phone. Police traced the number to AI, a 26-year-old Egyptian. However, his signature did not match with that on the application form.
Further probe led the team to MMA, a 27-year-old accountant who was using the SIM card. MMA allegedly used AI's passport copy and forged his signature to use his SIM.
The accused has confessed to the crime before the Prosecution.
