Five Sri Lankans allegedly broke into a medical store in Jumeirah and stole three laptops, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The accused, identified as OMB, 22, clerk, AMR, 30, office boy, MSF, 21, salesman, and MAM,25, store keeper, are also charged with destroying two safes.

MRM, 33, is accused only of possessing stolen items.

First Lieutenant Hamad Obaid testified that police received information about OMB seeking a buyer for laptops.

Police trapped OMB and arrested him red-handed.

He confessed to committing a number of thefts in Jumeirah, including clinics and commercial shops with the other three.

MRM denied committing any theft but confessed to possessing stolen items.
