Infrastructure investments vital: Hamdan

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council, yesterday said investment in basic infrastructure projects is an important strategic option at the current phase.

Sheikh Hamdan was speaking during a meeting with members of the board of Zabeel Investments. He listened to a detailed explanation by Board Chairman Saleh Lootah on the progress of the company's projects.

Sheikh Hamdan gave instruction to continue work on plans and projects of strategic priority at this phase. The Crown Prince reviewed phases of work on Zabeel Investments projects, primarily Zabeel Saray on the Palm Jumeirah. The five-star hotel is inspired from the Arab environment.

Lootah said the hotel is 99 per cent complete and it will be opened before the end of the year.

Zabeel Investments is a multi-activity investment company established in 2006. Its projects are worth Dh8 billion.
