Ajay Devgn's movie copied from a silent film

It is a season of remakes, and Ajay Devgn plunged into competition with his comic caper ‘Son of Sardar’, which is being touted as a remake of Telugu film.

Although it is known that ‘SOS’ will follow the story line of southern movie ‘Maryada Ramanna’ but the fact unknown is that ‘SOS’ is actually a copy of a silent Hollywood film of 1920s.

“The script of ‘Son Of Sardar’ is 90%-95% similar to that of Buster Keaton ‘Our Hospitality’. As Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt play the two lead characters who want to kill each other, but with a lot of humour involved,” says a source.

Originally a black and white movie, Buster Keaton ‘Our Hospitality’, is a slapstick and situational comedy mainly between two male characters.

Now whether it is a straight lift or an ‘inspired’ flick, the truth will be out only when the film releases during Diwali this year. In the meantime, calling all the critics to sharpen their knowledge by watching that silent film and prepare to know the difference.

And for those of the audience who are curious but lazy here is a shot at how the plot goes. There are two families who have been in a dispute since years and have parted ways.  A generation down and one of the ‘son’, reportedly played by Ajay Devgn comes down to his hometown to claim his ownership over a land which is under their rival family. And on this train journey Ajay meets the woman of his dreams – to be played by Sonakshi Sinha.  But when it comes to claiming the land and Sonakshi’s family, Ajay Devgn has to face a rough man – Sanjay Dutt. While both the tough men want to kill each other, it marks the beginning of a humorous journey. Ajay has sought place in Sanjay’s house, it actually turns out as a hurdle for Sanjay as he cannot kill anyone in the house, all the bloodshed has to take place out. Sanjay Dutt is waiting for Ajay to step out of the house, but Ajay has smartly locked himself up!

Fans hope that all the hard work in coping the script from the Hollywood flick do not turn out to be a waste.
