'Dabangg 2', the last big release of 2012, seems to cap the year on a profitable note.
The Salman Khan-starrer opened with a record-breaking collection of Rs 21.10 crore on the first day and trade pundits predict it will enter the Rs 100-crore club.
'Dabangg 2' has broken the record of 'Rowdy Rathore' that opened with Rs 15.10 crore.
A sequel to Abhinav Kashyap-directed 2010 blockbuster 'Dabangg', the part two is said to be made at a budget of Rs 50 crore.
This marks Arbaaz Khan's directorial debut who repeated the lead pair of Salman and Sonakshi Sinha, while Prakash Raj replaced Sonu Sood as the villain.
Though the movie opened exceptionally well in most part of the world during weekends, trade analyst feel that Monday will be crucial to the movie.
It' is difficult to predict whether 'Dabangg 2' will break the record of Salman's earlier release, 'Ek Tha Tiger', which earned Rs 33 crore on its opening day. The exact numbers are still awaited.
But Salman's 'Ready' and 'Bodyguard' opened with better collection compared to 'Dabangg 2'.
However, the market is confident that the film will certainly cross Rs 100 crore (INR). Besides, Christmas holidays will see the movie sail through and the film will collect enough.
Made at a budget of Rs 40 crore, Dabangg had collected Rs 145 crore.

Fiji recorded FJD 32,775 earning for 'Dabangg 2', New Zealand NZ$ 81,691, Australia A$ 275,195. Pakistan saw the biggest weekend ever with $ 350,000. In UAE 'Dabangg 2' released on Thursday and over the weekend earned Dh4,700,000. 'Dabangg 2' opening weekend in USA and UK were $ 1,019,213 and £ 341,619 respectively.
