Bollywood's biggest superstars and arch rivals Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan were seen hugging each other at political leader Baba Siddique's iftar party in Mumbai on Sunday evening.
Amidst loud cheers from the gathering the two actors shook hands and even hugged each other surprising the guests present at the party.
Shah Rukh Khan was already at the party when Salman made his entry with his entourage. He came and greeted everyone at the table where Shah Rukh was seated.
It was visible how awkward SRK was, he seemed more interested in the food. Salman greeted everyone around SRK and when he was about to move on he took a step back. Salman came from behind, put his hand on SRK's shoulder.
Shah Rukh did not hold back and embraced his once best friend. They also posed together along with the host of the party.
The Khans dear host, Babba Siddiqui was adamant to get the two together in one frame and he did succeed.
Shah Rukh also chatted with Salman's father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan and brother Sohail Khan.
Salim Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were deep in conversation throughout the party. The two spoke about health, food and films. Shah Rukh also inquired about Salim Khan and Salman's mother, Salma's heath.
Salim Khan is also believed to have congratulated SRK for his surrogate child. It was also learnt that Shah Rukh and Salim discussed Salman's hit-and-run case's hearing which is scheduled on 24th July.
Salman and Shah Rukh had not spoken to each other after a fight broke out at Salman Khan's ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008.
Everyone had given up hopes of seeing the two bury the hatchet. Whether this gesture leads to a beginning of a new chapter in their life only time will tell.
Guest present at the party say the two shared a "cold and awkward hug for the sake of shutter bugs", we are still surprised that they managed to do that!
So happy were people to witness such a moment that they instantly tweeted about it. Cricket journalist Ayaz Memon tweeted “Saw Salman and Shah Rukh hug each other at Baba Siddique’s Iftar party….had everbody cheering”.
The actors, who were seen in movies like Karan Arjun, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai were not in talking terms for more than five years.
