The hunt for the best child singer in the UAE is on. Gems Education, a private education provider in the country is calling on budding young singers across the country to take part in its sixth edition of the best of the best singing competition.
The auditions, which are open to students aged 9 to 12-years old who can perform in English, are set to begin on Saturday, October 11th, at Our Own English High School in Al Warqa’a from 10am to 1pm.
Additional auditions will be held on Monday, October 13th at The Winchester School, Jebel Ali from 1pm to 3pm and Tuesday, October 14th at The Millennium School, Al Ghusais from 2pm to 4pm.
The finalists from the first round will be asked to go through to a second round at the end of October, with the finals due to take place in December.
“Over the last five seasons of the Best of the Best we have seen some fantastic singers from across the UAE take to the stage to sing and perform. This year will be no exception and we looking forward to seeing and supporting new emerging talent,” said Kevin Oliver, Cultural Coordinator for the group.
Last year, the Best of the Best had over 3000 entries and auditions. Students came from diverse ethnic backgrounds and sung everything from country music to jazz, pop, classical and semi-classical, rap and blues.
So if you’ve got a child between the ages of 9 and 12 who love to sing and perform, come and join the Best of the Best.
