Reports of two major accidents came in from two emirates on Tuesday.

A vehicle knocked down a mother and her five-year old child on King Faisal Road in Umm Al Quwain on Tuesday.

In another accident, a UAE national, AMM, was runover while he was trying to cross Al Montazah Road in Fujairah. According to a report in Al Khaleej, police patrols rushed to the scene and took the body of the deceased to Al Fujairah Hospital to hand it over to relatives.

In the first incident, an Arab woman in her 20s and her five-year-old child were knocked down by a vehicle on King Faisal Road in Umm Al Quwain.

Speaking to the press, Lt. Col. Saeed Obaid Bin Aran, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at UAQ Police, said the mother and child were about to cross the road from the designated pedestrian area when the car hit them.

It has been alleged that the driver of the vehicle hit them because he was not paying attention to them crossing the road.

Patrol vehicles and an ambulance rushed to the spot instantly on receiving the tip-off and took the injured persons to Umm Al Quwain hospital for treatment.
