A metro station on the Purple Line of Dubai Metro will be among the features of the future community Dubai Hills Estate, located in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, according to sales representatives of the project.
At Cityscape last week, a billboard listed, among other amenities, ‘a metro connection to Dubai International Airport’ as one of the selling points of the city of the future.
A joint venture of Meraas Holding and Emaar Properties, Dubai Hills Estate is an urban development located at the junction of Umm Al Suqeim Road and Al Khail Road, in easy access of Sheikh Zayed Road and only a 10-minute drive from Downtown Dubai.
A metro connection will add to the accessibility of the community, believes the developer.
According to several sales representatives at Cityscape, the metro station will be located in the upcoming mall, in the southern corner of the development.
The metro station will be along the Purple Line, which will connect to both airports, they added.
As they claimed, the Purple Line will run underground crossing the community from north to south.
Developer plans are subject to change and no confirmation on the location of the Metro station has been given by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Blueprints presented by the RTA in May this year reveal that the Purple Line will cross the area set to become ground of Dubai Hills Estate, connecting the two airports and linking to the Expo site.
The Pink Line will cross the same community from east to west, as shown on the prints.
“The Pink Line will underpass the community but there will be no metro station in Dubai Hills Estate on this line,” said the sales representatives at Cityscape.
In total four additional Metro lines are believed to be in the pipeline - a Purple Line, Blue Line, Gold Line and Pink Line.
However, the blueprints presented earlier are subject to change and no recent updates have been given by the RTA.
