Dubai Police arrest drunk trying to rape, kill woman

A drunk Sudanese shepherd was arrested in Dubai after trying to rape and kill a woman of the same nationality at her apartment in the emirate.

The 37-year-old man met the woman, 27, at a shoe shop in Fraij Al Murar area and offered to help her in carrying bags as she walked back home.

As he left her building, he asked her friend to give him her phone number in case she needed further help in the future.

Two days later, the man came to the woman’s apartment late night and invited her out but she refused and asked him to leave.

Just after mid night, he came back and entered her flat after finding that the door was open. When she tried to push him out, the man attacked her.

“She told police that he was drunk…he tried to rape her but she resisted…he then got a knife and tried to kill her but she continued to resist,” the Arabic language daily Emirat Alyoum said.

“He then hit her hard and she fell unconscious…when she woke up later, the man had gone...she phoned the police and reported him.”
