Dubai VIP car number plate auction today

For those of you who prefer to stand out in a sea of cars in Dubai, the Roads and Transport  Authority (RTA) is hosting another auction today to special car plate numbers.

The online auction has plates ranging between Dh1,000 and Dh3,000, with alphabet categories including L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-S.

Amongst the four and five digit options up for grabs, some of the special plate numbers include ‘1213’, ‘70600’, ‘30999’, ‘1123’ and more.

Online auction participants will have to create an account on RTA’s website, or a new user link can also be used to get the username and password.

The new user must have a vehicle registered in Dubai or a driving license issued in the emirate. The deposit for the auction is Dh5,000.

Interested parties can deposit the cheque, plus a Dh120 deposit as a participation fee, in one of the customer service centers in Umm Ramool, Bur Dubai or Deira’s Tawar Municipality.

Users can also pay via credit card on the website.

The successful bidder should pay the bid amount within 10 days after the auction has closed through service provider centers (cash or credit card), RTA customer service centers (cash up to Dh50,000, Manager’s Cheque or credit card for above Dh50,000) or on the website itself via a credit card.
