Emirati dies after car collides with camels

A young Emirati died after his vehicle hit two camels in Ras Al Khaimah, police said.

The 20-year-old UAE national, AAA, was driving on the internal roads when the accident happened.

Colonel Ali Saeed Alkum, Diretor of Traffic and Patrols Department at Ras Al Khaimah Police, said the young man was surprised by the presence of two camels in the middle of the road and tried to avoid accident but crashed into the two animals, resulting in the death of the camels and the driver on the spot.

The police and rescue vehicles were rushed to the scene to transfer the young man to the nearest hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the family to complete the burial and funeral ceremony.

Colonel Ali urged all drivers to adhere to the speeds limits on the streets for their own safety and the safety of other road users.
