Major hospitals in Dubai hiring

Faced with a shortage of doctors and other medical staff, nearly all major hospitals in Dubai are hiring in various departments.

Whether it’s Medcare Hospitals, Saudi German Hospital, Mediclinic chain of hospitals, Canadian or American Hospital among others are hiring nearly in every department – cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, gynaecology, paediatrics and many others.

Besides doctors, personnel are also need in other departments like front desk, pharmacy, quality, transportation, human resources and IT.

According to reports, the UAE’s healthcare industry is witnessing an unprecedented growth and is expected to expand at a CAGR of over 16 per cent during 2011-2014 on the back of increasing population and a concurrent increase in lifestyle diseases, among other factors.

Patients maintain immediate appointments with specialists are not easy to get. “Most of the time, the doctors are fully booked for the day and you need to wait for a day or two to get a slot,” said Ahmed Saeed, an Indian resident in Dubai.

Another resident, without wishing to be named, told her ordeal to get a slot with one of the sought-after gynecologists in the city. “She was fully booked for a month so I had to do with another doctor,” she said.

Most big hospitals promise to offer an outstanding expatriate benefit packages, which includes attractive tax-free salaries, free malpractice insurance, free medical insurance, 24-month renewable contracts, accompanied contracts for physicians/managers (spouse and 2 children), educational support for 2 children for physicians and those in managerial category, unaccompanied contracts, free fully furnished and equipped villas for physicians offered by some hospitals, free fully furnished and equipped apartments (non-physicians), free utilities, transportation, shipping allowances and several other facilities.
