Money changer’s police record exposes theft

An employee at a money exchange shop in Fujeirah went to the police and told them unknown thieves robbed Dh10,000 from his company. But his previous criminal police record exposed his devious plan.

Police in the emirate said they quickly suspected that the unnamed changer was behind the theft when he told them that he was robbed by force while on his way to deposit his company’s money at the bank.

“Under interrogation, the changer confessed that he stole the money because of financial problems…he had already spent part of it,” the Dubai-based Arab language daily Emirat Alyoum said, quoting police sources.
