Mattar Al Tayer, Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), has announced the launch of the Best Dubai Taxi Operator award in terms of daily performance and customers’ service, and other awards as well for the Top Ten Taxi drivers.
Winners of these awards will be decorated on November 1, each year; which corresponds to the Public Transport Day and the anniversary of establishing the RTA.
To this effect Al Tayer met senior executives of taxi franchise companies in Dubai namely Cars Taxi, National Taxi, Metro Taxi, Arabia Taxi and the Dubai Taxi. The gathering was also attended by Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, Chairperson of RTA Services Improvement Committee and CEO of the Licensing Agency; Dr. Yousef Mohammed Al Ali, CEO of the Public Transport agency; Ahmed Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Dubai Taxi Corporation; and a host of directors.
“We will continue upgrading the taxi transit service as it is a vital means in the daily movement of people, noting that the number of taxi users in the first half of this year clocked 106.565 million riders,” stated Al Tayer.
