Summer Sizzlers: Airlines slash Economy airfares by up to 50%

Airfares for this summer are heating up, courtesy local airlines. Emirates Airlines is offering discounted airfares for tickets to 50 of its destinations for tickets booked by July 10, 2013, and for flights between the 8th and 31st of this month.

Passengers can fly to popular destinations like Houston (all-inclusive fares starting Dh4,935) and London (starting from Dh3,690) during this peak summer holiday season.

Other popular destinations included in the special promotion include Kuala Lumpur (starting Dh2,700), Munich (starting Dh2,830), Copenhagen (starting Dh2,965), Ahmedabad (starting Dh1,305) and Mumbai (starting Dh1,345), among others. The customers can log on the website for the full list of 50 destinations included in this promotion.

Passengers who thought they’d missed on the special prices have a good time to avail these rates. “I’ve been thinking of taking my family to London for the summer holidays but the tickets were too costly. I think this fare is still reasonable and I may finally buy now,” said Manish Jha, a Dubai resident.

Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airlines is also offering its summer sizzler deals, claiming to offer a whopping up to 50 per cent off.

“Take off this summer to some of our most popular destinations with discounts of up to 50 per cent. Sale is valid until July 7, 2013, and travel is valid from July 15 to July 31, 2013,” reads the promotion on Etihad’s website.

The list may not be very extensive but it includes popular holiday destination in Europe like Munich and Milan.

Qatar Airways is also offering its last-minute offers for three days. For example, if you fly from Dubai to London and buy the ticket in the next one day, you need to pay just Dh2,345. For this offer, you have to book between July 1, 2013, and July 3, 2013, and travel must commence between July 4, 2013, and August 29, 2013. There are a number of other destinations you can opt for but will need to buy the tickets soon.

In addition, flydubai has just announced a 48-hour sale for flights to eight of its destinations, starting mid-day today (July 2, 2013). The Dubai-based airline is offering a 20 per cent discount on return airfares to destinations in the Gulf and the Indian subcontinent, including to Karachi (starting Dh504), Doha (starting Dh533), and Ahmedabad (starting Dh948).

“Hurry, this offer is only available for 48 hours,” reads the online promotion on flydubai’s website. “Book before midday on Thursday 04 July and get 20% off the lowest return fares from Dubai to selected destinations. These “pay to change” fares still include all taxes. You’ll just need to pay for any extras you choose,” it states.
