'Underwear’ accused guilty of Dh1m robbery

An Ethiopian man who wrote his defence statement on his underwear, denying robbing an Iraqi investor’s bag which contained Dh1m, was sentenced to one year in jail by the Dubai Criminal Court.
DE, 25, who also raised the white garment in court, will be deported after serving his jail term.

According to the Prosecution DE and other two others met the victim when he was looking for a money exchange firm.

The three beat the man, snatched the bag which contained Dh1m and a mobile phone and ran away.
