Hailstorms and heavy rains in Ras Al Khaimah

Cloudy weather continues on Sunday as rains likely over certain areas of the UAE, says a National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) report.

Most areas of Ras Al Khaimah witnessed hailstorms and heavy to medium showers on Saturday.

While northern areas of the emirate received medium rain, the southern areas witnessed no rainfall.

The emirate experienced a significant drop in temperatures as a result of the showers.

Today (Sunday) is expected to be cool during the day and night, with the cloud cover increasing westwards during morning hours.

Meanwhile, fog formation may be seen during the night or early Monday morning.

Temperatures in internal areas are expected to drop to 19 degree centigrade, with a maximum of 34 degrees centigrade.

Unstable weather with likely rain in UAE

The weather over the weekend in the UAE will be unstable in general.

Cloud cover is expected to increase over some of northern and eastern areas with chances of rain,  according to the NCMS.

Fresh to strong winds may stir up dust in open areas and may result in low visibility.

Sea conditions will be rough over the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

Meanwhile, temperatures in mountainous areas will dip to 12 degree centigrade, while internal areas may see between 32 and 34 degrees centigrade.
