Dubai Police now has a fleet of luxury patrol cars with Mercedes, Bentley and Aston Martin One 77 joining the Lamborghini and Ferrari four FF. And more will be added, says a top police official.
General Khamis Mattar Al Muzaina, Deputy Director, Dubai Police, said that the new cars will be part of police patrols which will do the rounds at tourist destinations such as Burj Khalifa, JBR, and the heritage village and markets in Dubai.
“The cars, worth Dh15million, will be part of tourists’ security department in Dubai Police. It has the same equipment inside, like any other police car. There will be more such cars on the road,” he said.
“Dubai is a tourist destination and we want to develop our patrols as a luxury sign for Dubai. Such cars are unique and will boost the image of the emirate as a tourist destination and so it has been on the Arabian Travel Market. Also it will build up to the Expo 2020.”
Hundreds of people were amazed at the sight of the cars inside the Dubai Trade Centre. Many were seen standing beside and clicking pictures of themselves with the cars.
“These cars reflect the real image of Dubai Police which provide the best services for its people and Dubai visitors,” Al Muzaina added.
