The Deira Gold Souq has to its credit the world's biggest gold ring in the world.
Kanz Jewllery has been displaying the world's largest gold ring, weighting 63.856 kg, made out of 21 carat gold.
Anil Dhanak, Managing Director of Kanz, told Emirates 24|7 that the value of the biggest ring in the world has multiplied several times over the years, due to the record gold price now. While it cost $547,000 to make the ring in the year 2000, the current value is worth over $3 million.
"This is the world's biggest gold ring and we have displayed it on behalf of Taiba, the Saudi Arabian jewellery maker who made this unique piece in 2000, when the gold price was only $250 per ounce. Now the value of gold has gone up to $1,500 per ounce, so you can imagine how much fortune the idle gold ring has brought to its owner."
He said Kanz Jewllery has been attracting a lot of yellow metal enthusiasts because the ring is displayed with a Guinnes Book of World Records Certificate. "The ring is currently owned by Taiba, but we have displayed it to promote the much smaller wearable rings. This ring has inspired many gold enthusiasts to buy replicas," he said.
According to the Gunness Book of World Records, the world's largest gold ring is Najmat Taiba manufactured by Taiba for Gold and Jewllery LLC, Saudi Arabia and is studded with 5.1kg worth of precious stones from Signity Middle East and was supported by the World Gold Council.
Other dimensions of Najmat Taiba are 2,200mm perimeter, 700mm outer perimeter, 490mm inside diameter, 500mm width of the back of the ring, 250mm width of the ring bottom. It has 615 pieces of Swarovski stones. Fifty-five workers worked 45 days continuously for 10 hours a day to make this piece.
Kanz Jewllery is also selling skirts, jackets and other heavy items made of pure gold.
