Mohammed bin Zayed, Masoud Barazani hold talks

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Massoud Barzani, the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, discussed ways to promote energy, agricultural, tourism and transport relations between the UAE and Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

Welcoming wider relations with Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed stressed that security and safety represent the major factor for the founding any investment.

Expressing the UAE's interest in promoting relations with Iraq in service of the common interests, Sheikh Mohammed said: "We look forward to wider cooperation and joint action to promote the interests of both sides."

Describing Iraq as a great country with its human and natural resources and assets, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed said: "We all have to learn from the experiences of advanced nations which proved that educated and qualified people are the major asset." Barazani is on a current visit to the UAE accompanied by a ministerial delegation.

The meeting also explored the role of the late founding father of the UAE Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan in establishing the pioneering stature of the UAE and emirati nationals.

For his part, the Kurdistan leader expressed appreciation of the progress of development in the UAE.

He said that upon visiting landmark projects in the UAE, he was more convinced than ever that investing in the new generations is what makes the future.

In attendance at the meeting were Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, Lt.General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs (Minister of Federal National Council of Affairs), Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Water&Electricity Authority (ADWEA) (Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Executive Council (ADEC), and Nasser Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.
