Jail for cleaners who stole from hotel safe

The Dubai Criminal Court awarded two Filipino cleaners who confessed to stealing and hiding $4,100 of a hotel visitor three months jail followed by deportation.

Shahram Gulam, 32, Iranian, businessman complained about the missing of $4,100 from the safebox of the hotel room after he left for Sharjah with his brother at 9.20 am on June 7.

JWS, 28, confessed before the prosecution to sealing the amount while he was cleaning the room.

At the end of his working day he visited his friend CF, 24, cleaner in another hotel belonging to the same owner, and kept the money with him after telling about its source.

Police confiscated $3,300 hidden in the cabinet in the bathroom of CF’s house. He did that against $100 as his lot from the theft.
