Published

Temperatures in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries will start to drop as the region enters a 26-day cold season known as Shabt on Wednesday.

The Arabian Peninsula, which comprises all Gulf states and Yemen, has seen volatile weather conditions over the past three weeks during a period known as Akrab (scorpion), according to Saudi newspaper.

“Today is the last day of Akrab season….Shabt season will start tomorrow (Wednesday), which is the beginning of real cold weather for 26 days,” it said, quoting well-known Saudi astronomer Khalid Al Zuaak.
