Filipina runs amok for fear of husband’s 'circumcision'

A Filipina woman ran amok at a hospital in Saudi Arabia where her husband was to have circumcision after converting to Islam, screaming to doctors not to cut his organ off, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Tuesday.

The unnamed Filipino has just converted to Islam and decided to go to hospital in the southern Saudi province of Jazan to have a circumcision operation on advice by preachers who persuaded him to turn to the new religion.

“His wife went mad and followed him to the hospital where she started to cry and scream, thinking her husband would have his organ removed,” Sada daily said.

“Hospital officials struggled to convince her that circumcision is good for men and does not involve the removal of the organ…but she was not listen and continued to scream and shout, prompting her husband to change his mind about having the operation and converting to Islam.”
