A Saudi woman filed for a divorce from her husband nearly 30 years after their marriage because he was stripped off his nationality, a newspaper said.
The woman from the capital Riyadh justified her decision by her concerns about her children, saying their future could be affected in case they remain with their father.
She said the children could lose free education and health services and would need visa to enter the Gulf Kingdom.
“The woman filed for a divorce from her husband and for custody of her children so they will retain their Saudi citizenship,” Sabq daily said without mentioning why the husband has lost his Saudi citizenship.
