The mother brought the child to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Youth held for kissing 9-year-old tourist

A 19-year-old Sri Lankan youth was arrested on Monday by the police for forcibly kissing the nine-year-old daughter of an Australian tourist couple, the ‘Mawbima’ reported

Police said the incident happened when the couple was bathing in the sea at a beach in Galle with their three children and their youngest child was walking along a stretch of rocks.

The suspect, who was standing near the stretch of rocks, had called ‘come, come’ to the child and when she came close, he had hugged and kissed her lips.

On hearing her scream, the parents and some local people had caught the suspect, who tried to flee, and handed him over to the police.
