Woman spends night inside vehicle with 11 dogs

SRI LANKA: A woman has stayed inside a luxury vehicle parked in Walgama Junction of Galle Road with 11 dogs from June 25 till the next morning. The incident has stirred a lot of commotion in the town of Walgama.

According to a senior officer attached to Matara Police, the residents had punctured all 4 tyres of the vehicle as they found the behaviour of the particular woman suspicious and informed the police, local media reported.

However, the woman did not get down from the vehicle. The dogs tore the vehicle's seats and when the woman lowered the shutter of the driver’s seat intermittently, a terrible stench would emanate from within the vehicle.

She was seen wearing a thin piece of clothing.

She did not speak with anyone and several puppies were seen inside the vehicle.

Since the dogs were perceived to be dangerous, no one dared to go near the vehicle, and when one dog did come out of the vehicle, the residents kept guard from distance.

The woman has spent the entire night with the dogs in the closed space and when the sun arose the next morning, over 1,000 people gathered around the vehicle.

The police officers attached to Matara Police arrived at the location, diverted traffic and questioned the woman.

Since the woman had not engaged in anything dangerous, the officers let her go after repairing the punctured tyres.

A relative of the said woman also arrived at the location to identify the woman.
