Are you celebrating your birthday in January? If yes, head to At the Top, Burj Khalifa, the world’s highest observation deck with an outdoor terrace, which marks its first anniversary of opening on January 4, to win attractive prizes.

One of the world’s most popular tourism destinations, At the Top, located in Level 124 of Burj Khalifa, is celebrating its first anniversary with an array of promotional activities that will pamper visitors with a wide range of exciting gifts, an official release said.

The first 828 visitors – reflecting the height of Burj Khalifa at 828 metres (2,716.5 ft) - who celebrate their birthday in January can look forward to pampering gifts, in addition to the sheer excitement of watching panoramic views of Dubai and beyond from the city’s most vantage point.

All visitors on January 4 will also receive complimentary La Ronda choco-dates.

Issam Galadari, Chief Executive Officer, Emaar Properties - Dubai Operations, said: “In less than a year, At the Top, Burj Khalifa has become one of the most sought-after and most-visited tourist destinations across the world. In celebrating our first anniversary, we are sharing our joy with our patrons – visitors to this unprecedented experience – and offering them value prizes that will make their visit all the more memorable. The celebrations are a perfect testament to the appeal of Downtown Dubai described as the ‘Centre of Now,’ and Burj Khalifa, ‘ A Living Wonder,’ as the region’s most definitive lifestyle destination.”

There are a host of other promotional events and competitions during the month-long celebration. Visitors who buy a premium ‘Immediate Entry Ticket’ to the attraction stand to win one night stay at the prestigious Armani Hotel Dubai with dinner at the hotel’s premium Indian restaurant Armani/Amal, which overlooks The Dubai Fountain, the world’s tallest performing fountain.

At the Top, Burj Khalifa is also hosting a ‘Guest Feedback Competition,’ with the best entry standing to win a special retail pack that features a Burj Khalifa tower memorabilia and dinner for two at Ember, the flagship restaurant at The Address Dubai Mall.

For online ticket buyers, At the Top, Burj Khalifa offers an easy opportunity to win a one-night stay in a deluxe room with breakfast for two people at The Palace – The Old Town, a premium five star hotel in Downtown Dubai, as well as the award-winning One Desert Journey Spa Treatment for a couple and dinner for two at the award-winning Argentinean grill, Asado. Facebook fans stand to win ‘Immediate Entry’ tickets and a retail pack worth AED 100 by posting an At the Top, Burj Khalifa image as their profile picture.

The month-long promotion closely follows the ‘Celebrate in Style’ promotion by At the Top, Burj Khalifa, offering visitors the inimitable opportunity to herald the New Year from the tallest building in the world.

The entrance to the At the Top experience is at The Dubai Mall’s Lower Ground level. The reception area of the attraction features a large illuminated model of Burj Khalifa that introduces and familiarizes visitors with the various sections within the super-tall building.

The time-stamped ticket price is Dh100 for adults, Dh75 for children up to 12 years and free for children under 3 years.
For those who simply cannot wait, immediate entry is Dh400 per person, subject to availability.

The journey to At the Top, Burj Khalifa is also marked by multimedia displays - ‘Dubai Then and Now’, ‘From Earth to the Sky’ and ‘From Vision to Reality’ – which narrate the evolution of Dubai and Burj Khalifa.

The ascent to the 124th floor is by a double-deck elevator, each deck carrying up to 14 people and travelling at an amazing 10 metres per second.

High windows circle the entire viewing platform, and, for Dh10, visitors can scan the horizon and the distant streets below through computerised viewfinders, which also have pre-programmed day and nighttime vistas of the city and surrounding region. Visitors can also buy official merchandise from the At the Top retail boutique.

While Burj Khalifa was honoured with the ‘Global Icon’ status by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) recently, an honour bestowed for tall structures only once in 10 to 15 years, At the Top, Burj Khalifa was most recently voted as the ‘Best Tourist Attraction’ at the ‘Best in Dubai’ awards.

Burj Khalifa is at the heart of Downtown Dubai, the 500-acre mega development by Emaar Properties, described as ‘The Centre of Now.’ The most definitive lifestyle development in the city, Downtown Dubai features two malls – The Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar.

In addition to homes and offices, Downtown Dubai also features six world-class hotels – Armani Hotel Dubai; The Address Downtown Dubai; The Address Dubai Mall; The Palace - The Old Town; and Al Manzil and Qamardeen at The Old Town. Emaar Boulevard, a 3.5 km boulevard, hosts several lifestyle activities.
