Spurs want Drogba to ‘bully’ Arsenal

When it comes to the wiliest of the Premier League managers, Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is top of the pack.

His signing of Emmanuel Adebayor was a stroke of master genius – not least because of the Arsenal rivalry and the manner in which Adebayor - a former Arsenal man – is hurting them.

Redknapp’s Spurs seem now almost sure to finish top four, but more importantly for Harry and the White Hart Lane fans, is the chance to boss Arsenal and finish above them.

In fact Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger has been so irked by Adebayor’s effect – that he publicly criticized Manchester City loaning the striker to Spurs.

Now Redknapp has announced that he will be keen to take Didier Drogba to White Hart Lane in January.

A player like Drogba – and a strike pairing with Adebayor – is just what Spurs need to bully their way past a shaky Arsenal defence.

Chelsea striker Drogba, 33, turned down the offer of a new one-year contract extension at Stamford Bridge earlier this week.

Redknapp has confirmed he would be interested in singing the Ivory Coast hitman when the transfer window reopens.

He said: "Drogba is a top player, a fantastic player, so who knows? I couldn't sit here and say we wouldn't be interested.

Redknapp has a genuine selection headache after Jermain Defoe scored alongside first-choice striker Emmanuel Adebayor. With Drogba he would have more than enough fire-power.
