Images of low-end BlackBerry Z3 leaked online
Foxconn’s new BlackBerry Z3 is here. Pictures of the new handset that are now being manufactured by Foxconn have appeared online and is set to first hit the market in Indonesia.
The smartphone, which is specifically aimed at developing markets, will run on BlackBerry 10.2.1 OS and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 and A 5-inch display.
Rumours of the screen resolution differ with some reports stating a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels at 220 pixel density (PPI) while others are betting on a much higher display features.
The phone was initially expected to be out by April but according to tech blog N4BB, it will only release in the Indonesian market in May.
Z3 will be the first BlackBerry device to be released this year and will join the Z10 and Z30 at the lower end.
Last December, BlackBerry announced that Foxconn would start making future BlackBerry devices at its plants in Indonesia and Mexico as it laid its focus on software and services.
Last week the company went on to release stickers for BBM chat and according to reports it is already making great inroads into monetizing the popular chat service.
According to Forbes, in South Africa and Indonesia, BBM has reached the No. 3 spot on iPhone social networking app chart in terms of revenue.
