Adnic appoints Ahmad Idris as CEO

Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (Adnic) has announced appointment of Ahmad Idris to the position of CEO. In his new role, he will be responsible for leading, developing and executing the company's strategy.

Adnic former CEO Walid Sidani stepped down on December 1, 2014.

Khalifa Mohamed Al-Kindi, Chairman of Adnic said: “Ahmad Idris has a wealth of experience in the insurance industry, as well as proven leadership and management abilities. He also knows Adnic well, having spent more than 20 years in the company previously… We are pleased to welcome him back."

Idris said: “The company has exceptional capabilities and a solid foundation in place to enable it to add even greater value for its customers. I look forward to working with the entire Adnic team as we embark on this exciting journey.”

The insurance company’s net profit in the first third quarter of 2014 dropped to Dh94 million compared to Dh141m during the same period last year – a drop of nearly 33.33 per cent.
