Money stealers had secret cameras fixed on ATMs in Sharjah
Two Chinese nationals have been arrested by Sharjah Police on charges of stealing money from automated teller machines (ATMs) in the emirate.
Police said the two arrested people had secretly installed small video cameras on ATM machines which recorded finger movements of bank clients, enabling them to learn their secret numbers.
They would then encode the stolen date on plastic swipe cards and then steal money from bank accounts.
The two were arrested while they were monitoring ATM machines. A number of magnetic plastic cards were found in their possession.
