Text books with 'beach women' seized in Saudi

Saudi Arabia’s Islamic police seized a large quantity of school notebooks with pictures of half naked women on the beach, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice raided several bookshops in the southern Asir province and confiscated the notebooks after they were reported by parents buying stationery for their children.

“The notebooks confiscated carried pictures of half naked women although they were being sold to little pupils,” 'Al Riyadh' daily said.

Millions of students returned to school in Saudi Arabia on Sunday after a three-month summer recess.
