C3 Card eyes 500,000 workers by year's end

C3 Card, a payroll service provider, has recorded a three times increase in the number of cards issued to workers in the UAE in the past six months to over 250,000. The company expects to double this growth in 2010, its General Manager Anas Zaidan told Emirates Business.

"In the past six months, we tripled the card base. It is currently over 250,000. We plan to double this figure and touch almost half a million by the end of this year," he said.

The company provides payroll services directly to companies or through financial institutions.

Its payroll card enables employees to receive their salaries via instant electronic transfer.

Zaidan said the company is also planning to expand in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

C3 Card is endorsed by the Ministry of Labour in the UAE and its unique services are in full compliance with Wages Protection System (WPS).

"We are the first authorised agent to go live on the WPS system," he said.

He said the C3 payroll card saves employees the hassle of carrying cash. They can receive funds on the card instead of waiting for cheque to clear, this gives them a instant access to their pay. It is particularly useful for the non-banked as it removes the inconvenience and cost of exchanging cheques for cash and also provides the benefits of a debit card.

He said the company has also partnered with Commercial Bank International and is servicing organisations such as HSBC and Mashreq bank with a secure, simple and economical solution for all their payroll needs.
