Aramex goes green with eco-friendly pouches

Logistics also joined the green-bandwagon as Aramex introduced an innovative solution to minimise its ecological footprint.

The company has introduced the use of bio-degradable courier bags across its global network. In line with this development, the firm has also started phasing out all plastic bags for its express courier dispatches.

“The switch to bio-degradable pouches is a step forward for us as we move towards the use of environmentally-friendly products in every aspect of our operations,” said Raji Hattar, Aramex chief sustainability and compliance officer.

The company also mentioned the new pouches are made from recycled polythene, the most common type of plastic, and a special additive that reduces the molecular weight of polythene. The special component accelerates plastic’s disintegration process without affecting its durability.
