Sewa appoints firm to study future needs

Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) and Tractable have signed a Dh9 million contract to make a plan and strategy for electricity and water in the emirate until 2025.

The study aims to devise a strategy that includes power bases and features of the development and expansion of the transfer of electricity and its distribution as well as systems and generation of electricity and desalination of water in Sharjah.

The research will also focus on upgrading Sewa's potential to meet demand for electricity and water until 2025.

Tractable will study means to improve the efficiency of operation systems, networks of transfer and distribution, analysis of current problems and assessment of recently executed projects. (Wam)
