Mansouri for co-ordination with local bodies

Communication and co-ordination with local bodies in the UAE are necessary to unify efforts in facing the challenges of international financial crisis, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, said. He was addressing a meeting with chairmen of chambers of commerce and industry in the UAE. Also present was Humaid bin Batti, Assistant Undersecretary for Corporate Affairs at the Ministry of Economy.

Al Mansouri added the meeting is in line with the basic trends of the strategy of the Ministry of Economy which help in reaching the highest levels of co-

ordination between the ministry and local bodies to examine the impacts of international financial crisis and explore resultant challenges.

He said the ministry attempts to meet all concerned bodies in the UAE to listen to their views and suggestions to reach at the best solutions and draw up flexible co-ordination mechanisms contributing to the consolidation of the economic performance in all emirates.

The meeting saw the discussion of economic situations in the UAE in the shadow of the international financial crisis. Views were exchanged with regards to the co-ordination of efforts and exploration of challenges that private sector institutions face.
