Showtime launches channel for children
Showtime Arabia has announced the launch of JimJam, a new channel committed to providing a responsible and entertaining environment for pre-school children. The new channel is available to Showtime customers from today. JimJam features well-loved characters in renowned animation programmes including Angelina Ballerina, Barney & Friends, Bob The Builder, Thomas & Friends, and James The Cat. Marc-Antoine d’Halluin, president and CEO, said: “JimJam adds to the best in kids’ entertainment available on our network as it contains some of the world’s most popular parent-trusted programming providing audiences with entertaining, family-friendly experiences delivered in innovative ways.” All current Showtime customers will enjoy JimJam at no additional cost. The main programmes on JimJam are: Angelina Ballerina The story follows the adventures of a remarkable little mouse who dreams of becoming a prima ballerina. Angelina pirouettes centre stage capturing the joys and frustrations of growing up and learning from her mistakes along the way. Thomas & Friends The programme has become a rite of passage for countless pre-schoolers around the world. Thomas has been making tracks to great destinations for more than 60 years with classic stories of adventures from the railways on the Island of Sodor. From an established publishing heritage to an exciting world of creative train play, Thomas provides a unique way for parents to share the playtime experience with their child. Bob The Builder It is the most popular show for pre-school children worldwide. When they enter Bob the Builder’s world, children begin to learn the importance of teamwork and a positive attitude. Set in and around a building yard in a small town, Bob, his business partner Wendy and their loveable team of machines – Scoop the digger, Muck the digger/dumper, Lofty the mobile crane, Roley the steamroller and Dizzy the cement mixer – work, laugh and play together. James The Cat James is a black and white cat who was forgotten on the doorstep in his basket when his owners moved to a new home. He is a pampered cat who had never set foot outside the house and he therefore finds it difficult to fend for himself in the wild. |
