Bid to sell fake auto parts foiled

The Dubai police's Department of Anti-Economic Crimes has foiled a deal to sell fake auto replacement parts worth millions of dirhams, according to a statement from the department.

Director Major Salah Jumaa bu Oseiba said police received information of a warehouse in Awir selling fake parts of Volvo, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz cars imported from China. Bu Oseiba said police seized three big trucks full of the fake replacement parts.

The owner of the warehouse, an Indian, confessed that the parts were stamped with the barcode of the original trade mark.
