Why Karan Johar is Bollywood's 'Pappu'
Bollywood's ace producer-director Karan Johar has agreed to be a judge at the dance reality show on Indian television titled Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
Johar chose to judge a show rather than return with his own mega-successful chat show Koffee with Karan's fourth edition this year. He had deferred his chat show as he was very busy with his film 'Student Of The year' and wanted to give 200 per cent to the film and did not want any distractions.
Being a judge on a dance shows, he feels, is easier since he does not have to do all the running around. He says he simply has to give his honest opinion on the performances.
The other judges on the show are Farah Khan, choreographer and director as well as Remo D’Souza, again choreographer and filmmaker.
But when he was asked if he would be shaking a leg with the other judges during any episode, he shudders in mock horror and vehemently responds to Hindustan Times: “I won’t, because I can’t dance the way others can. Farah (Khan) and Remo (D’Souza) are choreographers first and then filmmakers. It’s easier for them. Not for poor filmmakers like me... We’re Pappus who can’t dance saala (sic)!” https://www.hindustantimes.com/Entertainment/Television/I-can-t-dance-saala-says-Karan-Johar/Article1-874150.aspx
