Is Ranveer playing famous con man?

There have been many portrayals of conman and con-woman on screen. But its actor Ranveer Singh’s role of Ricky Bahl in 'Ladies vs Ricky Bahl' that seems to have garnered the maximum attention. Reason, Ranveer’s style of essaying the role is much like the infamous real life conman Charles Shobhraj.

The only difference, while Ranveer as Ricky Bahl charms beautiful women and cheats them off their property and cash, Charles Shobhraj would kill them soon after. Infamous as the 'bikini killer', Charles has a record of killings women across the globe, and is now serving a sentence.

But in every other sense, Ricky looks very much like Charles, insist a few know-it-alls. However, director, Maneesh Sharma doesn’t subscribe to this similarity. He says, " The movie is not  based on the life of Charles Shobhraj, so there is no question of copying his mannerism. The comparison is just incidental."

Hopefully, the film’s release would put things in order.
