Pooja Bhatt splits with husband Munish Makhija

"I do not want to say anything beyond what I have tweeted," said Pooja Bhatt when asked about her split with her husband of 11 years Munish Makhija.

Munna and Pooja came together during the shoot of the film Paap where they collaborated on the music. Soon they wed in Goa at a Shiva temple and cemented the bond.

There were stories about the fissures between the two – they seemed very unlikely as a couple – but then the relationship went strong.

"Both of them were very compatible in the sense that their views on the world, on Bollywood and on music were so similar, even though they differed as personalities.

"To all those who care & especially those that don't my husband Munna & Me have decided to part ways after 11 glorious years of marriage," was her tweet that told the story on Monday morning.

Pooja was in Kolkata with her father Mahesh Bhatt when she sent the tweet. She soon added, “Our split as some might call it is amicable & we hold each other in the highest esteem for now and forever. The reason I explain is because we are both part of the public domain. Our friends,well wishers & foes are free to now speculate,” was her refrain.

Pooja and Munna as Munish was known had shifted to a farm a few kilometres away from Mumbai at a place called Kalote. Pooja had shifted her office in Mumbai at a Five Star hotel a few months ago. Her house however remains in a plush Mumbai suburb.

Munna was collaborating with her on the music publishing it for her for all her films. They are still working together in two films together Cabaret and Jism 3.
