Lady Gaga vs Katy Perry at the MTV EMAs

After the meat dress, what’ll Lady Gaga wear next?

That’s the question agitating the fashion pack ahead of the MTV Europe Music Awards in November, where she and Katy Perry lead the field of nominations at five  apiece.

The pair will also face off in four categories: Best Pop Act, Best Song, Best Female Act and Best Video. Gaga is also up for Best Live Act, while last year’s host Perry is up for Best World Stage performance.

Perry will also perform at this year’s event, as will Linkin Park. A host is yet to be named.

Eminem’s return to the spotlight sees him nominated four times, for Best Song, Best Male Act, Best Hip Hop and Best Video for his collaboration with Rihanna on "Love the Way You Lie."

Also fighting for a place in the sun is the incredible Justin Bieber. The 16-year-old winner of the Best New Artist gong at the MTV US awards last week, battles Ke$ha, B.o.B, Jason Derülo and Plan B for Best New Act, as well as going up against Eminem and loudmouth Kanye West for Best Male.

Best Alternative nominees include Gorillaz, Gossip, Paramore, Vampire Weekend and Arcade Fire, while slugging it out for Best Rock EMA are Kings of Leon, Linkin Park, 30 Seconds to Mars, Muse and Ozzy Osbourne.

The MTV Europe Music Awards are being held on November 7 in Madrid.

As for Gaga, she’s developed a reputation for setting pianos on fire while she cavorts around in the now yawn-inducing bikini, so we’re guessing she’ll try and set herself alight next.
