Leona Lewis to perform in Abu Dhabi

British pop star Leona Lewis is headed to Abu Dhabi this month.

Why do we care?

Simply because she’s one of the first reality show stars to make it in the real world. The 25-year-old, whose hit songs include "Bleeding Heart" and "I See You", the theme from "Avatar", rose to fame with the third series of the British television series “The X Factor” in 2006. She has become a multi-platinum selling artist and three-time Grammy nominee. With two albums so far, “Echo” and “Spirit”, she has moved some 10 million CDs.

So where’s she singing, then?

At The Ball, a charity event aimed at raising funds for the Naked Heart Foundation being held on the Yas Island on November 13. She is to appear alongside Sophie Ellis Bextor and Grammy-winning singer Sarah McLachlan. Organisers have yet to confirm a venue.

How much am I going to have to shell out?

For Dh25,000 for a VIP table of ten, buyers get a four-course dinner in addition to the show. Tickets are available to purchase from GEM Global Event Management, by writing to Kristina all, Kristina@geventm.com.

What’s this charity thing?
The Naked Heart Foundation was set up by supermodel Natalia Vodianova and provides safe and inspiring environments for children all over Russia, who live in underprivileged urban areas. So you can watch lovely Leona while helping kids who’ve been hard done by for no fault of their own.
