BIGG BOSS: Navjot Singh Sidhu stumps Salman Khan
Cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, left reality show 'Bigg Boss 6' midway to fulfill his political commitments.
Though he had no plans to leave the show, but as state assembly election is approaching in India he had to make a decision.
Sidhu opted to leave the 'Bigg Boss 6' house after his wife conveyed to the channel that Chief Minister of Gujarat, Narendra Modi wanted Sidhu to campaign for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates in Gujarat next month.
But he says he wasn't forced by the party, it was sudden and surprising.
As a contestant, he was fun loving and often played peacemaker. He was among the few who hardly had any arguments with the rest of the gang.
Initially, Sidhu had refused to take part in a nomination proceeding in the show.
However, he is glad he managed to do the smallest jobs in the house and complete different tasks given to him.
Talking about the mental state of the contestants in the show, he said: "In the 'Bigg Boss' house, you don't have a support system of friends, family, phone and internet. So this builds pressure inside the house."
Sidhu also reveals he had entered the show due to his daughter.
"I wanted to prove to my daughter that a lotus blooms wherever it is. I knew that I was on the path of truth and this was the right way. I called my daughter first after leaving the house. She was crying and she told me that I was amazing in the show. She said you are my role model," he added.
Having spent so much time with his fellow contestants in the house, Sidhu says he never developed animosity against anyone.
However, the former Indian cricketer made a startling confession during his stay in the house. He admitted cheating during a match against West Indies played in Sharjah several years ago.
The outspoken cricketer who is popular among television audiences across the country for his wise cracks, recalled dismissing tail ender Courtney Walsh by taking a catch after crossing the boundary
This confession comes when he was asked if he had ever cheated during his international career spanning 18 years.
The cricketer-turned-politician, was however quick to add, “But I am repentant.”
