No heroine for Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor

The male cast may have been finalised. The first look may have been revealed. But there is one more thing to do before ‘Gunday’ can start its roll – get a heroine.

The competition is between an Indian looking girl and the girl debutant director actor Ali Abbas Zafar wants.

Produced by Aditya Chopra, the film features Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles.

Set in Kolkata, then Calcutta, of 1971 to 1988, the film tells the story of Bikram and Bala who rose from being small time wagon breakers and coal thieves to becoming the biggest and most powerful black marketing mafia-men.

A rare combination of vigour and wit, the two were inseparable and the city of Calcutta swore by their friendship. As their notoriety became the stuff of legends the people of this sprawling city started calling these two carefree rebels Gunday.

The leading lady, who plays a pivotal role in the film, is still to be cast and will be announced shortly.

This is both Singh and Kapoor’s third film with the YRF banner. The film will go on floors this December.
